10 Realistic Goal Setting Tips By Jennifer L Blair
Are you struggling to attain the goals you've set for a healthier lifestyle? It's that time of year again. The time for setting up for your desires and achievements. Sounds easy enough but actually it can be quite a daunting task to follow through. Most of us gear up for a year of checklists and begin with gusto. However, after a few days or weeks of struggling to maintain enthusiasm, most of us give up and fall right back into our old habits. It's easy to get overwhelmed if you don't have a strategy in place for fulfilling your healthy habits. Below are 10 realistic goal setting tips to help you succeed without feeling overwhelmed.
For lots of tips and information: http://www.healthwealthhappinesstips4today.blogspot.com
1. Write It, Draw It, Paste It!
It's super important to visualize your goal. You can either write it down or create a visual representation of what you want. A vision board is a fun way to be creative with your goal setting. Take a poster board and cut/paste images of your desires. This can be a healthy looking body (maybe a celebrity you admire or athlete?), a yummy looking healthy meal or even words of inspiration. Hang this artistic expression of your goals somewhere where you can see it all the time. Whether writing or creating something visual you are instilling your goals into your subconscious thought process.
2. Be Specific
"I want to be healthier" is NOT a specific goal. Your mind will hold you to your desires much better if you are clear and concise. Ask yourself important questions like, "What steps should I take? or "What does healthy mean to me?". Stay away from vague or broad terms and really know what you want to achieve.
3. Start Small
Try not to give yourself a huge overwhelming transformation all at once. Your goals should be realistic and achievable.
4. Narrow Your Focus
So often we set a multitude of goals covering every area of our lives only to discover we cannot possibly accomplish them all at once. Although you may want to exercise more, eat healthy, be productive and save money; focusing on all of this is a sure way to fail. Instead, set up a time-frame for yourself. Pick one thing to focus on for the week or month. When you feel confident you have tackled your first obstacle and formed a solid habit, then move on. After all it's better to achieve even one of your goals then to fail altogether.

5. Don't beat yourself up.
It's okay if you slip off the wagon once in a while. You don't have to be perfect to be successful. Most people succeed after several tries. It's the ones who don't give up that achieve their goals. When you fall, tell yourself - "okay, let's try this again" and keep trying until you get it right. Expecting perfection is not the way to go. Understand your limitations and work with them.
6. Progress Report
Another realistic goal setting tip is to set up a way to track your progress. Just like when we were in school and had star sticker charts, progress reports can be the same. It is truly helpful to see how far you have come and it will boost your confidence knowing you are moving forward.
7. Rewards & Holidays
Set up milestones. When you have reached a milestone, reward yourself. Know what you are working towards and always have a light at the end of the tunnel so you don't burn out. You can treat yourself with a new item you may want to purchase, take yourself out for dinner or event a vacation where you can just let loose. This doesn't mean you should set yourself entirely back but you can at least loosen the reins and reward yourself to make it all worthwhile.
8. Share Your Goals
Many people make the mistake of keeping their goals to themselves in case of failure. This is a mistake. When you share your goals with others, whether friends or loved ones, you are establishing a reality to what you are trying to do. This will set you up for a solid foundation of success. Subconsciously we don't want to let anyone down. It's also easier to fail if no one else is watching. Broadcast your news and share your achievements to keep you motivated.
9. Create Your Environment
Set yourself up for success. If you plan to exercise more, be sure you have what you need. i.e. If your goal is to exercise more: athletic shoes, a yoga mat, a place to move, etc. If you want to eat healthier, be sure to purchase the foods you want to eat before you begin so you can be ready and remain steadfast. If you don't set up for the goals you want, it will be too easy to make excuses later.
10. Be Conscious of Your Thoughts
This is perhaps the most important of the 10 realistic goal setting tips. Filtering the positive and negative thoughts will mean the difference between success and failure. If a negative thought pops up, take a look at it and replace it with a positive affirmation instead.

Personal Development Activities To Boost Your Brain Power By Michael J. Simpson
Are you looking for personal development activities to boost your brain power? Your mind is indeed a very powerful tool, and every human being has been gifted with it. However, most people are either not fully utilizing it to its maximum potential, or they are not taking good care of it. Allow me to share with you how you can improve its capabilities so that you can fully utilize it to the best of its capabilities.
Let me start with one of the most challenging personal development activities I have ever attempted. That is trying out brain teasers. These challenging games are meant to stimulate a deeper level of cognitive thinking so that you force yourself to think and push yourself to the limits, mentally speaking. New brainwaves are formed just by trying to think of a solution to these challenging puzzles. Hence, you do not even need to be able to solve them just to develop your mind. All you need to do is attempt to solve it. Until today, I have yet to solve the Rubik's cube, but I know that my brain power has been boosted just by attempting to solve it.

The next thing you can try is learning a new language. This can be challenging for some people, especially those who may not be linguists. However, when you learn a new language, you are actually learning a new skill in itself, and that will definitely form new brainwaves in your mind. Now learning a new language is one thing, but speaking and writing it is another. Try to involve as many of your senses in your learning as possible. That way, you will find it easier to retain what you have learnt and apply it in future contexts.
The above-mentioned personal development activities can be a little challenging, so here is something that is a little easier. Try reading widely. The simple act of reading can be beneficial too because not only are you boosting your brain's power, but you are also feeding yourself with more knowledge, and with that, you are more likely to see things from a different outlook. People who read widely tend to be more open-minded than people who do not. Sometimes it isn't always about a person's IQ. I have found that open-minded people are better when it comes to relating to others.

I hope you have learnt something new from these personal development activities which I have mentioned. Go ahead and give them a try.

10 Quotes That Inspire and Why By Avil Beckford
Have you ever wondered which quotes inspire successful people? On an ongoing basis I interview successful people to learn from them and share their wisdom with others. And one of the questions that I ask is, "What is your favorite quotation and why?" I have included 10 of the responses. Here are 10 quotes that can lend fresh perspectives to your communications.
For lots of tips and information : www.healthwealthhappinesstips4today.blogspot.com
Joe Martin's Favorite Quotes and Why
"Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it." George Santayana
"The reason I study history is so that I can make my own mistakes." A businessman
I like these quotes because I am trying to teach students that there is much knowledge in the world. In addition, in the mid 1980s when I was at the top of my game, I knew exactly what I needed to do. I conducted some research and discovered a 10-year old report that contained a blueprint of what I was planning to implement. Why wasn't this blueprint implemented? Why did it fail? History allows you to evaluate and learn.

Oliver Campbell's Favorite Quote and Why
"For what are your possessions but things you keep and guard for fear you might need them tomorrow? And tomorrow, what shall tomorrow bring to the over-prudent dog burying bones in the trackless sand as he follows the pilgrims to the holy city?" Kahlil Gibran
I like this quote because it indicates that life is an endless progression of change. To be overly careful by repeating actions which may appear to be wise can become very foolish if we do not recognize the nature of the progressions facing us.
Seaton McLean's Favorite Quote and Why
"An investment in knowledge always pay the best interest." Benjamin Franklin
I have had this quote in front of me for the last 20 years and I like it because I believe that if a society invests in knowledge it will have a common base to communicate. We as individuals also have to put the emotional investment into educating ourselves so that we can put things in perspective, read between the lines and understand how certain issues such as racism and poverty impact all of us.

Stephen Abram's Favorite Quote and Why
"Eternity is a mere moment, just long enough for a joke even if it is sardonic." Hermann Hesse.
I like this quote because sometimes your life serves as a warning to others. Often, people are too serious. Sometimes you laugh and other times you should just see the irony in the situation.
Simon Grant's Favorite Quote and Why
"Success is not a place at which one arrives but rather the spirit with which one undertakes and continues the journey." Alex Noble
If you focus only on the goals, you will make your bosses happy, but you sell yourself short - life, love and work are all a series of journeys. Goals happen, are temporary and then are gone and leave emptiness. Enjoying life is not about enjoying and having passion for the achievement of goals, but about enjoying and having passion for the journey itself.

Anthea Rossouw's Favorite Quotes and Why
"We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied into a single garment of destiny, whatever affects one directly, affect all indirectly." Martin Luther King
"We are made to live together because of the interrelated structure of reality." Martin Luther King
I identify with these quotes because they relate to life's realities. Woe betide those who ignore these powerful messages. If we do not learn from history we will repeat it, my incredible mother always said. What happens in one country, impacts other countries. We are bound by mutual destiny. I can make a difference by becoming involved in the destiny of the world. You work locally but think globally.

Tonya Lee Williams' Favorite Quote and Why
"The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire." Ferdinand Foch
Any quote that talks about infusing spirit with passion is a great quote.
Prudence Brown's Favorite Quote
"Only the best is good enough." Unknown
I like this quotation because you cannot relive your life, and one of the worst things is to regret what you could have done, when it is too late.

Paving Your Path To Greatness By Ketul A. Kothari
Let's face it. Everyone desires to be one of three things: rich, famous, and/or happy. It's an intrinsic human desire that is hard-wired into our brains. The problem is that when it comes to achieving these life-long dreams, many people just don't know where to start. Here are some great tips to get you started on your rise to greatness.
Be Consistent. Whatever your do, don't be quick to give up. If you are ever to succeed at anything, you need determination. If you don't succeed the first time, try again. Do whatever it takes to get your project or venture off the ground. If you can't find success with your current strategy, then try different approaches, learn about other perspectives, ask for advice/feedback, or even change your expectations. The point is to keep on trying, as this is the only way you will truly learn. While in the classroom there may be a right and a wrong answer, in the real world people learn through experience and experimentation. This is also why it's okay to make mistakes, as long as you learn from them quickly.
For lots of tips and information visit: www.healthwealthhappinesstips4today.blogspot.com
Spend Your Time Wisely. Try to cut time from activities that aren't necessary. If you currently find yourself driving during peak hours, try leaving earlier. You could always take care of errands that could be completed along the way or squeeze in some time at the gym for your daily workout. There are only twenty-four hours in a day, so you might as well make the most of them! You'd be surprised at how much you could accomplish in your lifetime from cutting just an hour a day from unnecessary activities and time drains.
Fake It Until You Make It. If you don't feel confident about what you're doing, try your best to never show it. If you want to persuade people to follow you, believe you, or even try to help, you must convey strong confidence. Don't let people realize your uncertainty. The more you practice this, the more you will begin to believe it yourself and the more comfortable you will become.
Think Differently. Don't be afraid to bring up uncommon ideas or strategies. Just because an idea isn't conventional, does not mean that it cannot be executed successfully. In fact, some of the most unorthodox ideas oftentimes prove themselves to be the most effective. Keeps that in mind next time you come up with an unusual, albeit interesting idea.
Try Your Hand at Everything. While it is important to be consistent, this does not mean that you should not try out different things. In fact, you should try your hand at everything you can (assuming the task does not put you at severe financial or physical risk). You never know what activities you might end up enjoying. Who knows, by trying out something different you may even discover your future passion.

Step Outside Your Comfort Zone. The only way to achieve true greatness is to step outside of your comfort zone. There is absolutely no way around this. You need to push your limits to experience and learn things which you've never been exposed to before. This is the only way to grow both on a professional and a personal level. The more you step outside of your comfort zone, the more of a well-rounded and confident individual you will become.
Act Like a Champion. Standing tall is one of the universal gestures of power and confidence. This gesture helps for you to exude strength and control. It's also something which many people need to improve on, as bad posture is very common nowadays. Part of explanation for this strange phenomenon could have to do with the fact that many jobs involve employees being hunched over a computer desk for extended periods of time, but this is just speculation on my part.
If bad posture is the case for you, a great starting point could very well be to invest in some ergonomic office furniture. Another great gesture of power is to convey the notion that you do not have anything to hide. This is a very powerful notion for the simple reason that people are more likely to engage with someone that appears to have nothing to hide then they are with someone that appears stiff or unfriendly.

3 Habits to Lead a Happy Life By Mohit M Kumar
Happiness is something that each one of us seeks, to witness, to feel, to live. It has nothing to do with any of the external factors, instead, should come from within. Since each one of us is different, each one of us has our very own idea of happiness. To be happy, one should understand the fact that it isn't good luck or money that can draw you some happiness. In fact, it is a unique perspective towards life and its mysteries that motivates you toward a happy ending, a satisfying living pattern.

3 Habits to lead a happy life:
1. Breathe positive, think positive:
There are times that our thoughts dominate over us, however, make attempts to have control over your thoughts. A fact is that most of our thoughts are driven by the sub-conscious mind, which is greater than the conscious mind. Hence, to live a positive, happy life; tighten the reins over your thoughts. You need to be the driving positivity to create a place to dwell your thoughts in.
2. Cleanse your mind and body:
Leading a happy life requires you to think healthy, live healthy. To cleanse your mind, it is crucial to believe in the staunch reality that we are powerful creators of our own reality; therefore, understanding our true potential is vital. Whereas, cleansing your body here means opting for natural therapies that will help cleanse your body internally making you feel lighter and revived. Opt for alternatives such as relaxation therapies to attain a good mental health leading to a rejuvenated physical health.
3. Take the leap of pure, unadulterated joy:
While making positive reinforcements in your life; don't forget to look front-ward, permit new experiences and undeterred assertive energy. Learn to create inner peace with yourself and replace negative thoughts with positive stimulus. You could try reflecting upon yourself by indulging in yoga, which will lead you to self-improvement. Remind yourself about who you want to be in life and walk on the path of self-reliance and self-worth. Let go of the complicated, materialistic things in life and look forward to the simple things that offer abundant joy.

You Have Greatness Inside of You By Dr. Jeff Davis
You have greatness inside of you. People who have achieved great things in this life did so because at some point in their life they believed it was possible. They reached inside and found the courage to dare to do great things. They won.
It is very hard to achieve greatness when you are unable to envision yourself being great. If you want to find out what you are truly capable of you need to look past the limitations of your life and see the endless possibilities that exist when you believe.

Look at the inventions we have before us that at one time were only a dream;
1) Traveling from one continent to the next would take weeks on a boat. Now an airplane can do it in hours. A boat was a great idea for traveling on water. But airplanes travel in the air. Someone with greatness inside of them had to come up with that idea first.
2) People use to use horses to get around. Now we use cars. Walking has its benefits but you can only go so far on foot. Horses allowed people to get places faster. But cars move even faster. Someone with greatness inside of them came up with that idea.
3) We used paper and pencil to keep notes. Now we use computers. Man has been writing for centuries. But now we use computers. They have replaced the need to depend strictly on paper and pencil. Instead we do more with computers than we ever had before. They allow us to collect and analyze more data than we could have dreamed possible. This is the result of someone having an idea that such a concept would be possible.
4) We looked at the moon. Now we have walked on it. Surveyed it. The moon is over 250,000 miles away and people have dreamed about space travel. Yet some added feet to the dream and we went from looking at the moon to walking on it. Someone with greatness inside of them came up with that idea.
I could go through so many other inventions (the toilet, cellphone, television, microwave, toaster, etc) and the one thing all of these items have in common is that someone with greatness inside of them came up with the idea. The world has been benefiting from this and continues to benefit.
